Shalom Family, an initiative of The Mayerson Foundation in Cincinnati, Ohio for young families in the Jewish community, charged us with developing a Rosh Hashanah event and accompanying marketing materials. As we thought about themes surrounding the holiday, the idea of a “sweet new year” stuck out. And sweet it was! We decided to build the entire event around candy and ice cream and cake and all things sugary. While some critics worried that health conscious parents wouldn’t take their kids to an event like this, we proved them wrong by attracting hundreds of families who allowed their kids to indulge as a fun and engaging way to usher in the Jewish New Year.
